Vicrila was created in 1890 and from then until now has been devoted to the production of glass, one of the oldest companies in the Basque Country. Its facilities have produced different types of glass and products, emphasizing in its early years the production of bottles and flat glass later.
In 1971 it began producing glass table when it was acquired by the French ARC INTERNATIONAL Group and Saint Gobain. From the year 1981 was 100% acquired by the French multinational ARC INTERNATIONAL Group, being the Group's production facility that supplied mainly the Spanish and Portuguese markets, as well as other European and American markets of the Group.
Since 2009 the company has ceased to belong to the French group, thus preventing its closure and has become 100% national capital, and is currently the largest manufacturer of glass table with Spanish capital. Vicrila today employs over 240 people directly and generates significant indirect employment in its area of influence, which is the largest industrial company.
